A Letter From A Doctor Who Sees the Light

I know that the internet childbirth world is all abuzz about the AMA's resolution to "outlaw" homebirth, so I wanted to share this link with you. I found it very uplifting, and hope that a reply is posted someplace.

Oh wow.....that's all I can say...oh wow!!!

Can you believe, doctors, midwives and nurses aren't even TALKING about ACOG and AMA's stance on homebirths, where I work? Not ONE WORD has been uttered. I tried bringing the subject up, and none of the nurses even heard of the latest measure by ACOG and AMA to outlaw homebirths.

at your cervix, I am not surprised that the RNs haven't heard this. I find that most L&D RNs believe in the medical model and wouldn't be following the OOH birth stuff.

My current clinical site it all abuzz about it....

Thank you for posting this. It gives me even more hope. I'd like to think that the more verbal ACOG gets against home birth, the more we will see evidence in the favor of home birth come into the public eye.
